Femme Nouvelle, 2017

This series entitled Femme Nouvelle, meaning “new woman”, is inspired by the Art Nouveau style of master painter Alphonse Mucha. Featured here are a collection of portraits evoking a modern take on Mucha’s iconic paintings resembling stained glass. Through a unique integration of vibrant colors and a bold graphic style, Beatriz’s acrylic and watercolor paintings present a diverse representation of women and explore a contemporary interpretation of the word muse.

This is Beatriz's first body of work ever exhibited, presented by 212 Arts gallery on the Lower East Side in Manhattan, NY.
